Favorite Things

These are my favorite things in the world:

  • iphoneMy iPhone: I used to carry a PDA, a phone, and a iPod. That was all changed when I got my iPhone. There are very few words to describe how it’s changed life for me. Maps, Internet, Music, I can show photo slideshows or movies of weddings, and Hey! It’s a phone too.
  • Adobe Lightroom: Managing the workflow of wedding photography is very demanding. There are often upwards of 2,000 images taken at any given wedding. Having the ability to select, edit and manage all my photos in one place with a professional software package makes life so much easier for me. I can always export to Photoshop for some heavy manipulation, but I find that about 95% of my workflow is all Lightroom, and 5% Photoshop.
  • Wordpress: You’re looking at it.
I used to make websites from the ground up, and when I needed to add a new page I had to go in and recode all the pages to point to the new one.
I found Wordpress while I was in Thailand blogging about daily life there. Wordpress easily lets me add pages, add blog posts, and even change the appearance on the fly.
  • Leather Craftsmen Albums: The ultimate in quality! These wedding albums are used by world reknown wedding photographers such as Mike Colon, Jasmine Star, and Becker. They are so well put together, that I carry a lifetime guarantee on any album purchased through me.
  • XterraMy X-Terra: My silver 2003 Nissan X-Terra is like one of my best friends. His name is Steve McQueen (the naming process started with Silver Bullet, to Bullit, the movie, to Steve McQueen who starred in the movie).  We’ve been on a few great trips, some fun off-roading, and it’s not that bad to sleep in the back.
  • The Green Bay Packers: I’ve been a Packer fan since 1995 and have been through the ups of Playoff wins and the downs of the 4 and 12 season. I drunkenly celebrated a Super Bowl, and cried when Brett Favre retired. Things will be different now with Aaron Rodgers, but I have not lost my affinity for the Green and Gold and the mystique of Lambeau Field.
  • Marie Calendar Beef Potpies: Take one of these bad boys and pop it in your microwave, and 10 minutes later… Mmmmmmmmm!!!!
  • Sarah Silverman and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Those shows are so wrong, they’re right!
