Hi Nancy,
I was born in Japan, but grew up in San Diego, California. You are right, it's very uncommon for Americans to travel without abandon.
It would be nice if more people did. I think people would be liberated from the "rule by fear" the government uses, as well as financial fear (which is very relevant as I write this).

What is found through traveling, is a sense of calm and comfort in a "great big scary world."

I'm not aware of the New Thought that you refer to, but, you are right about Faith. Whether it be God that you pray to (and I mean that in the generic sense), or as George Carlin used to pray to Joe Pesci, I think the idea is to have faith. Not only in the greater power, but also in humanity, and your fellow man.

I guess, without faith, there is just fear.

To answer your last question, I turned out just fine.
Thank you for your comment.

Hi,
I wonder where you are from? It's not so common for Americans to travel about the world without premeditated resources....

Yet, all the teachers of New Thought would have us believe that we are all provided for, and will continue to be provided for as long as we have faith.

How did you make out?
